The present study aims at contributing to the development of a critical pedagogy within Environmental Education, sumonning Freire’s educational thought. There is a plenty of researches on Freire’s pedagogic work, nonetheless it occurs a lack of studies related to socio-environment questions. In this study, focussing on the Pedagogy o of Freedom, some pertinent contributions are pointed out in relation to Socio-environmental Education, upon Freire’s conceptions of the human being, the world and of Education. This text presents also the results of the research and some indicative considerations for the socio-environmental educators’ formation.
