This research investigates the impact of low pay of teachers in the daily experience of the classroom. Intensive interviews were performed with ten experienced and committed teachers who work in schools in the state of São Paulo. The data analysis based on the qualitative research indicates that the teachers haven´t time to study and update because they give many classes weekly. This compromises the planning and organization of work; causes suffering; leads them to experience the process of precarious and intensification in their daily. This situation prevent largest investment in profession. There is therefore a worsening crisis in the teaching profession due to low salaries.
