Multimedia is the combined use of several media, such as sound and full-motion video in computer application. Its use in education is increasing continuously due to the lower prices of the mechanical, magnetic, electronic, and electrical devices comprising computer systems. Digital convergence is finally happening: all separate media are now digital and are delivered via global network, thus favoring quality education. In this new context, there is a need for the management of change: teachers demand both training and digital content in order to incorporate multimedia in their daily practice. After considering themes like accessibility, management of change and multimedia, this paper presents two initiatives. The first one relates to teacher training in educational technology while the second involves multimedia production for teaching. This paper intends to contribute to the discussion on the production, publication and use of educational multimedia content.
