BRONDANI, Renata Petry y ARPINI, Dorian Mônica. School experiences of juveniles under socio-educational corrective measure. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2019, vol.24, n.1, pp.73-88. ISSN 2318-0870. https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v24n1a4228.
Considering the importance of the school environment in the life of adolescents and the present relevance of the subject of socio-educational corrective measures in the country, the present study sought to understand how the school experience occurred for six adolescents who were under socio-educational corrective measures of semi-freedom. The research was conducted in a facility where this measure is applied, through semi-structured interviews with male adolescents. It was found that in contexts of vulnerability that pervade the life-stories of the adolescents interviewed, the school experience proved to be impoverished, with high dropouts, school delay and absenteeism, as well as low family participation and involvement. The adolescents report little involvement of their parents and/or relatives in school activities and often reveal difficulties related to their participation. Thus, we understood that it is of prime importance that the school, through empathic relationships, develops new references for adolescents with low school ties and engagement, in addition to being under socio-educational corrective measures as this may trigger prejudice and stereotyping that need to be overcome.
