The objective of this work is to understand how the permanent New Fundeb contributes to the reduction of educational inequalities in the municipalities of the state of Paraíba, delimiting the time frame to the year 2022. In a quantitative approach, the debate on municipal inequality in Brazil, the potential of the Fundeb in reducing regional asymmetries and the empirical basis in the collection and treatment of information from the Summary Reports of Budget Execution of 201 municipalities in Paraíba formed the basis of the analytical spectrum of this work. The results indicate that Fundeb is effective in reducing inequalities between municipalities in Paraíba, especially in considering the Union's financial complement to Fundeb, either by calculating the Annual Value per Student – VAAF or the Annual Value per Total Student – VAAT, innovation in policy reconfiguration since the year 2021.
