This text aims to identify the course of educational planning in the city of Curitiba, Paraná, after the approval of the National Education Plan (2014-2024), particularly with regard to the elaboration, monitoring and evaluation of its Municipal Education Plan. The methodology consisted of documentary research, developed through a survey and analysis of documents published on the electronic pages of the National Education Plan, the Municipal Education Forum and the Municipal Education Council, in the period in question. The results allow us to conclude that the municipality of Curitiba developed and concluded only the elaboration stage of its Municipal Education Plan, without any action related to its monitoring and evaluation. Such a movement highlights the weakness of participatory spaces in the scenario of democratic fragility that Brazil experienced after the 2016 coup which replicates, or germinates, in the relationships established at the local level.
