This article presents the productions, contributions, and impacts of both personal and professional journey of Professor and Researcher Vera Maria Nigro de Souza Placco. It aims to highlight her ethical and political coherence, enhanced through a formative praxis, by describing how she carried out her role as an educator and her academic productions. The narrative-type research was developed based on a literature review of the professor's academic trajectory. Organized in three parts, the article introduces two concepts present in several of her works - synchronicity and dimensions of professional development - and reaffirms the articulated, formative and transformative role of the pedagogical coordinator, as well highlight the role of research at teachers’ education articulated to the teaching. Responsible for instructing multiple generations of teachers in basic and higher education, coordinators, principals, postgraduate students, and researchers, Professor Vera maintained, throughout her over 50-year career in teaching, a close relationship between her work at the university, qualifying researchers, and public schools, with continuous educational practices. Her legacy, briefly exposed in this article, which is evident in the impact of her work, greatly contributes to the construction and consolidation of the field of teacher development, always in dialogue with educational psychology.
