Resumen

ISLAS, Dalia Peña  y  MESQUIDA, Peri. The materials as a possibility of a third space producing interculturality in the Intercultural University of the State of Hidalgo (UICEH). Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2024, vol.24, n.80, pp.185-197.  Epub 29-Abr-2024. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.24.080.ao01.

The Intercultural University of the State of Hidalgo (UICEH) was founded in 2012 and is located in the municipality of Tenango de Doria Hidalgo in Mexico. Within the model of Intercultural Universities (UIS) it is established that this type of Institutions must incorporate the knowledge of the indigenous communities where they influence, in this case the UICEH located in the Otomí-Tepehua Region fulfilled the task of producing different materials that incorporate indigenous and western knowledge. In this sense, this article presents the results of an investigation of a material entitled: "Dialogue of knowledge. Indigenous communities and university students", whose main objective was to analyze how, through the mentioned material, a third space of intercultural production was built for the students of the UICEH. For the elaboration of this research, the methodologies used were digital ethnography and double reflexivity.

Among some of the results obtained, it was found that students experienced processes of reflexivity in the production of this material, which allowed them to form a critical interculturality from the knowledge of their territories, but linked to university knowledge, thus establishing "living dialogues" and positioning themselves ethically and politically. In addition, this experience of producing materials as a "third space producing reflexivities and interculturalities" could be a way to generate "third comfortable spaces" for UICEH students to learn to manage diverse learning and reflexivities, especially those linked to the recovery of community and indigenous knowledge.
