In this text, you will find the results of the research that aimed to analyze the reasons why students enter, remain in or abandon the Pharmacy course at the Federal University of Pampa, Uruguaiana/RS campus. To this end, a quantitative cross-sectional study was carried out by applying a questionnaire to 114 graduates on the course. It was observed that 48.52% of students did not have Pharmacy as their first option, however, 32.01% chose it due to the diversity of areas of activity. Although 64.66% of them have already thought about giving up their degree, because 35.46% find the subjects very difficult, 90.31% want to finish it and work in the field. Therefore, it is concluded that the profile of the majority of Pharmacy academics corresponds to that of students who are aware of their professional choice.
