Scientific research conducted in the field of education has different methods for data collection, such as the Delphi Technique. The aim of this study is to point out the applicability of the Delphi Technique in education and its possible areas of intervention. We conducted a literature search in Scielo and Scopus of studies published from 1990 to 2011 using the keywords Delphi and Delphi. We found a total of 452 articles that used the Delphi technique as the methodological tool, of which 19 met the selection criteria. These articles were classified into three categories of analysis: Course Evaluation, Educational Planning, and Educational Policy. The results indicate the need for further research in the field of Educational Policy. They also indicate that the Delphi technique is an easily applicable method in educational research with extremely positive results.
