Considering that the current complexity and amplitude of scientific production require the study of metascience, this article presents the bibliographical and epistemological results acquired from the analysis of the scientific production in the Doctoral at PPGE-UFSCar, in the field of Educational Fundaments, from 1993 to 2007, aiming to identify the epistemological paradigm that based the aforementioned research in education. The analysis of 55 theses proposed during the quoted period identified the presence of Marxist paradigms, phenomenological and “post modern trends”, with the predominance of the first one. The analysis also pointed out the most relevant works and authors, highlighting the assistance from respective advisors.
