This paper presents a research done among 174 subjects who had studied in three schools of Agriculture in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio Grande do Sul. A questionnaire with both open objective questions was administered to 573 subjects who concluded their courses in the years of 1981, 1982 and 1983. The information gathered was grouped into the three classes: a) the social origin of the subjects taking as indicators the income and the subsistence conditions of both the subjects and their families as well as their schooling; b) the subjects present and previons occupational status including eventual difficulties experienced in professional life and degree of satisfaction at work, and c) the social representations of the subjects related to school, labor market and the society as a whole as well as their expectations and aspirations.
