This study presents part of a process carried out under the scope of institutional self-assessment at a confessional and community university, which had the institution’s technical and administrative staff as its subject. The goal was to value this segment, promoting knowledge about it and highlighting the interconnection between the pedagogical and political dimensions of an institutional self assessment. It summarizes the methodological procedures used and the quantitative and qualitative nature of results attained by the survey, which involved 79% of the university’s technical and administrative staff and whose participation was voluntary. In the assessment, the staff showed an understanding of the nature of their workplace, but favored items related to career, management, and organizational atmosphere.
