The purpose of this study is to build an argument theoretically based on the importance of attention to themes and expressions of the diversity and to the problem of exclusion, associated to prejudice, observing, in the social representations’ mechanisms, factors that explain its formation. This study proposal is part of the research about “Themes of diversity at school and in literature”, which implementation in the period of 2009 to 2011 has the support of CNPq. The methodology is recurrent to the one of the essay, characterized by the logical chain of grounded analysis that lead and sustain the logical and coherent construction of a theoretical and conceptual argumentation. According to the essay style, the analyses do not lead to conclusions, but to arguments that underpin and highlight the proposal of inclusion, highlighting how to overcome prejudice in order to welcome diversity and respect differences, in a way that they do not turn into inequalities.
