Resumen

This paper aims to show that philosophy of education as an academic discipline and an investigative field has its history permeated by the intercrossing areas of Education and Philosophy. It is in the context of the complex relationship between Education and Philosophy that both the institutionalization of the teaching of philosophy of education and the formation and consolidation of philosophical and educational field are recorded historically, a journey marked by philosophical approaches to educational issues and research on educational topics in philosophical thoughts. This is a bibliographic research, based on the construction of knowledge that comes from the contributions of classical and contemporary authors, and later studies made by scholars and researchers on the ideas of such authors. The theoretical contributions we have based our study on includes authors such as Cambi (1999), Severino (2000, 2011), Saviani (1991, 2002a, 2002b), Albuquerque (2003), Tomazetti (2003, 2010), Gallo (2007), Pagni (2008) and Henning (2010), among others. Based on the critical understanding of the trajectory of philosophy of education and its specificity in theoretical (research) and practical (teaching) dimensions, we believe in the relevance of studying this theme in the academic sphere, once the philosophy of education is a very important theoretical field that contributes enormously to the formation of educators.
