The objective of this study was to identify the prevalence of Burnout and the levels of self-efficacy of 63 Physical Education teachers who work in Basic Education. A quantitative research was carried out, under the theoretical framework of Social Cognitive Theory. A socio-demographic questionnaire was used as instruments for data collection; the Maslach Burnout Inventory and the Self-Efficacy Scale of a Physical Education teacher. The results showed that 69.8% of the participants registered high rates of emotional exhaustion, 44.4% high depersonalization, and 41.2% low personal fulfillment at work. Regarding self-efficacy, 3.17% of teachers were classified as having low self-efficacy, 55.5% moderate, and 41.2% high. It is concluded that interventions are necessary for the treatment and prevention of Burnout, as well as programs that develop teacher self-efficacy.
