The concept of quality in higher education was one of the most important during the 90's. Although people and institutions agree on this point, it is very difficult to agree on the meaning of the term. This article tries to analyze the real idea conveyed by the CONEAU (Comisión Nacional de Evaluación y Acreditación Universitaria), which was created to asses and accredit Argentinean universities.
