In this paper we present part of a study in Online Higher Education which analyzes the students' perspective about the role of a Course Coordination in an online learning environment. It builds on the transactional model of Distance Education from Garrison, Anderson and Archer Community of Inquiry Framework. The results suggest that coordination may constitute a relevant factor in the model considered, particularly in social presence. There were also differences at this level, according to the academic year in which the students started the course.
