The present study aims to portray two proposals of school cooperative: the idealized by Célestin Freinet in the beginning of the twentieth century (considered avant-garde and considered as one of the pedagogue's techniques) and the one elaborated by a credit cooperative (inserted in today's public schools and citing the first as one of his inspirations). Thus, we compare the propositions and understand the resignification of the project of school cooperatives, almost a century later, situating its materialization in the current historical time as part of the processes of privatization of the content of education. The analysis is defined as qualitative in nature and was performed through bibliographic and documentary research.
