ALARCON-LEIVA, Jorge y GOTELLI-ALVIAL, Catalina. Privatization of school management in Chile: The case of the Institutional Educational Project (PEI). J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2021, vol.15, e83257. Epub 09-Abr-2022. ISSN 1981-1969. https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v15i0.83257.
The article is a reflection made from the evidence collected in recent years for students of the Magister en Educación Basada en Competencias at the University of Talca, referring to the possibilities and challenges of school management through Institutional Educational Projects (PEI). In particular, in relation to the importance of the PEI as an instrument of the Chilean educational policy. In this framework, the characteristics that make up the PEI and the way in which Chilean legislation has been promoting its use in public and private establishments with public financing are presented. So, the hypothesis is that the PEI is an instrument for the privatization of Chilean public education, by introducing this device as a way of articulating and giving content to the constitution of private school communities.
