MARQUES, Rodolfo de Moura y MENEZES, Paulo Henrique Dias. SCIENTIFIC TOY WITH RECYCLABLE MATERIAL: a playful way to teach and learn science. Revista Teias [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.67, pp.564-577. Epub 23-Feb-2023. ISSN 1982-0305. https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2021.52562.
The article reports the development and application of a didactic proposal for Science education, based on the construction of scientific toys, made with recyclable materials, to explore Science concepts and issues related to environmental preservation in the early years of elementary school. The construction of toys was guided by two questions: one about the science related to their functioning and the other about the impacts on the nature of the material used in their construction. After the toys were assembled, these questions were taken up for discussion. Thus, we sought to qualify Environmental Education in Science teaching with toys that were, at the same time, the product of the reuse of solid waste and the object of learning a scientific concept. The results indicate that the methodology stimulated children's imagination and creativity, revealing itself as an alternative with great potential for scientific and environmental education in elementary school.
