This article aims to reflect on some particularities and outline some discussions necessary for the training of teachers who work in Early Childhood Education, highlighting paths, concepts and perspectives. Due to the above, when looking at the process of institutionalization of childhood and the nature of teaching work in Early Childhood Education, some concerns are opportune, among them, a guiding question for the proposed article: What are the conceptions and perspectives that guide the work teacher in Early Childhood Education? The study was carried out based on a bibliographical research, in dialogue with the main authors of childhood, with the legislation pertinent to this stage of basic education and with the experiences lived as teachers in the Pedagogy course. The article contributes to thinking about the conceptions of assistance to children throughout history, as well as their influences on the training and performance of teachers up to the present day, emphasizing the need for a training process that involves reflection and action, in which the teaching praxis.
