Based on the temporal references present in interviews with hospital-class teachers in 3 institutions of Curitiba, as well as on observations in loci of the practices, we discuss the clash between the actual duration of the classes and the bureaucratic duration required by the school authorities, with their consequences on work. The main concepts mobilized refer to territory, as a form of hierarchical structuring of space and to place, as the construction of a mode of belonging marked by affectivity. From this point of view, there is a process of deterritorialization of the school practices in the hospital, that is, they take place in an environment that is not structured according to teaching and, therefore, the hospital class appears as a phenomenon of reconstruction of social practices that arise in each teaching-learning event, whose most evident marks are individualization and affectivity. As expression of this process, the creativity of the teachers, circumscribed by the territoriality of the hospital (its rules and hierarchies) appear predominantly.
