The University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil and the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) in Spain created in the nineties college greening two structures: USP Recycle and the Office Ecocampus. Both entities have a wide network of support as the Research Team Environmental Education and Participation Department of Ecology at the UAM. Since 2009, the USP and the UAM have developed a line of research in university greening through the implementation of an international cooperation project funded by the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation and Development. The main objective in this project is to strengthen environmental performance of both action-oriented institutions for sustainability.
