This article uses the minutes of pedagogical meetings held between 1944 and 1962 at Minas Gerais School, located in Uberaba-MG, with the aim of analyzing the rules and regulations imposed to the teaching staff, which was formed exclusively by women. These rules had the purpose of keeping good order of the school and also controlling the behavior of the teachers according to the profile idealized for the practice of mastership. Although it is focused on a specific school group, this study is intended to join other studies related to gender and teaching profession, offering insight to understand the formation of the identity of this professional.
