With the aim to present different possibilities of using text books as a teaching resource for History of Education, some obstacles and some important premises are addressed. There fore, the article is divided in three parts. The first one deals with the possibility of combining research and teaching as well as integrating the history of the school culture in the teaching of History of Education. The second part shows differenty et possible approaches for using text books as a teaching object. The third one is dedicated to the way of accessing text books.
