This article is about the life trajectory of a quilombola professor. Through her, it is tried to comprehend the resistance processes that are built in front of experienced exclusions and racial discrimination. Methodologically, this is a qualitative inquiry of ethnographic type. The collecting instruments were the observa tion and the interview. The results point out a trajectory marked by poverty, stigmatization, racism, gender and regional prejudice just for being an inhabitant of a quilombo. It is also noticed that in social quilombolas movements, the schooling and participation were the main strategies used by the professor to resist and re establish her self-image, self-confidence and to professionalize herself, transforming her global conditions of life in that way.
