Discussion consists in a social interaction in which different individuals exchange and confront, within a group, their own positions about a problem, aiming at the proposition of a solution. From the standpoint of development, discussion was considered by Piaget as one of the elements that trigger the evolution of the individual from egocentrism to descentration. As such, discussion allows at the same time the development of socialization and of thought.
