The present text aims to understanding the notions of entrepreneurship and employability as developments of the Human Capital Theory. For this purpose, we analyzed the interview statements of twelve young Brazilian high school graduates from courses integrated to professional education of the Science and Technology Federal Institute of Piauí - Parnaíba Campus. We used a critical theoretical corpus (MACHADO, 1998; PIRES, 2005; RAMOS, 2002) to Schultz's Human Capital Theory (1973). As a result, we noticed that the notions of entrepreneurship and employability constitute the vocabulary of the students surveyed. The manifestations occur with the reproduction of elements that reinforce individual investment as a process of positive differentiation to the demands of the market. In effect, such reproduction contributes to the process of fragmenting the identity of young working-class people. On the other hand, we noticed the denial of these notions, derived from the Human Capital Theory. The resistance is linked to the construction of social relations that unveil the forms of exploitation undertaken by the capitalist mode of production.

Palavras-chave : Human Capital Theory; Entrepreneurship; Employability; Class unity.
