In this article we present and discuss an instrument to support the assessment of the learning of Medical students in the competence of taking anamnesis. This is a rubric to standardize the collection of information by the preceptors of this course, which aims to expand the possibilities of this assessment, minimizing situations of marked subjectivity, thus subsidizing teaching for the development of this skill, extremely important in medical training. Assessment, as a way of qualifying an educational object and making a value judgment about it, is an essential part of the pedagogical process, however many teachers do not receive preparation to carry it out, which ends up compromising the validity and the reliability and therefore limit the potential of assessment in teaching.
