This article aims to describe teaching practices, established in the professional know-how of teachers who work in Early Childhood Education, reflected in pedagogical and methodological actions that favor children’s learning rights and the development of teaching skills and competences. We start from the assumption that teaching learning is continuously built in the movement from theory to practice based on different modes of teaching. It is based on the theoretical assumptions of Angotti (2003), Barbosa (2006), legal documents (BRASIL, 1998), Pereira (2007), Tardif (2002, 2014), Zabalza (1998, 2000), among other authors. In its construction, we used narrative-type research (SOUZA, 2006), having as a data production device the training and practice memorial (PRADO; SOLIGO, 2004) and participant observation (ANGROSINO; FLICK, 2009), carried out with six teachers from three schools in the Municipal Education Network of José de Freitas - PI. We used content analysis, following the conceptions of Poirier, Clapier-Valladon and Raybaut (1999) to analyze the data of this research. The results showed that the professional development of teachers is anchored in teaching learning from the personal trajectory and training paths of the profession expressed by the teachers’ routine, which is guided by the municipal education system based on the National Literacy Pact at the Right Age -PNAIC in the sense to meet the objectives, functions and purposes of the teaching level in focus.
