LIMA, Marcos Antonio Martins. Evaluation in the recent Brazilian history of higher education. Avaliação (Campinas) [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.02, pp.83-95. ISSN 1414-4077.
This article discusses the major systematic experiments adopted by Brazilian governments since 1977, starting with the first evaluations of graduate programs carried out by CAPES, followed by PARU in 1983, the High Level Commission (1985), GERES, isolate experiments at UnB, UNICAMP, UFRN, UFPR and UFC, PAIUB in 1993, ENC (1996), ACO (1998), followed by ACE (2002) and today's SINAES (2003). Since the beginning, these experiences have followed a neo-liberal trend, applied through exams and with a professional approach, although an epistemological and theoretical evolution is perceptible, especially during the 10 years that separate the experiences of PAIUB (1993) and SINAES (2003).
