Science and technology policies in Latin America present elements that express the linear perception of policy makers concerning the relations between science, technology and society. This perception can be traced back to the report elaborated sixty years ago Science: the Endless Frontier. This work intends to explore the impacts of this linear vision in the formulation of science and technology policies in Latin America, from a critical perspective.
