The use of social networks on high-school education enables people to take advantage of their potentiality as a multiple space of interaction and sharing, to meet the interests of students and simultaneously to promote collaborative learning. This study aims to assess the potentiality of a social networking service, the Facebook, to promote collaborative learning. The students used a page and a private group to interact in forums, share contents and use wikis to produce documents in a collaborative way. With the aid of computer softwares, UCINET and NetDraw, the dynamics of the group of students was analyzed in terms of interaction in the forums. We also used a qualitative analysis tool based on the Murphy (2004) model to determine the extent of collaboration among students.
