CABALLERO, Maritza Minelli Briceño. Perceptions of integrity in university teaching: insights from student's perspective. Práxis Educativa [online]. 2024, vol.19, e22859.  Epub 31-Maio-2024. ISSN 1809-4309.  https://doi.org/10.5212/praxeduc.v.19.22859.004.

Academic integrity, understood as the set of values and ethical principles that guide interactions and the exchange of ideas within an educational community, acquires special relevance in the university context. The role of the teacher in the training of professionals is central, and the lack of academic integrity can significantly undermine the quality of education. This quantitative research identified the presence of unethical behavior in the performance of professors from the perspective of 1,558 undergraduate students at a Mexican public university through a survey. The results revealed that students most frequently identify unethical behavior in two main areas: teachers' performance in the classroom and their relationship with students. On the other hand, negative perceptions related to teachers' general obligations and evaluation processes were observed less frequently. These unethical behaviors, identified by students, have the potential to negatively impact the quality of teaching, given that the classroom environment is a critical space where teachers' values and ethics are manifested and modeled.
