This paper presents partial results of a research that discusses about the universe of Indians students from urban schools in Rondônia. It focuses on strategies for affirmation and omission identity (ethnic belonging) of Indians in the school and daily relationships in Ji-Paraná town. The research revel several instances of contempt, violence and prejudice directed against Indian students. Moreover, capture a latent and unexpressed tension featuring an intercultural coexistence in the school context - which is a space known culturally homogeneous. To argue about these and others issues raised by research, we've utilized authors, who address, within the field of indigenous education, topics such as school management, public policy, educational projects, colonialism, indigenous autonomy and leadership.
