CHAGAS, Claudia; ROCHA, Renata  e  LOBO, Thamy. THE GEOPOLITICS OF POWER: DAY-TO-DAY MOVEMENTS AND FORCED DISPLACEMENT IN MODERNITY. Eccos Rev. Cient. [online]. 2022, n.61, e17755.  Epub 09-Fev-2024. ISSN 1983-9278.  https://doi.org/10.5585/eccos.n61.17755.

Forced displacements in modernity have occupied a prominent place on world political agendas, becoming a necessary and powerful theme in international debates in different dimensions of political, economic and also sociological analyses. In order to scrutinize these new understandings about this phenomenon, we bring to the discussion the “Report on Global Trends in Forced Displacement” and some legal documents produced and/or incorporated into State policies by several countries to deal with the subject and, also, public policies formulated in Brazil. For tackling the issue. In order to do so, a brief historical-critical overview of the geopolitical formation of the world and its implications in the accelerated process of migration and refuge was also prepared, covering concepts such as historical and cultural identity and the legitimation of the “Other” through the bet on difference. The research built will be supported by the theoretical-epistemological concept of "coloniality of power" that operates in the individual-State-displacement relationship, having as a theoretical-methodological basis the studies with everyday life, from one of its research movements, called "world feeling". Finally, the research's commitment to creating “tactics”, as we learn from everyday life, and creating “Other” voices of enunciation and polyphony, is reiterated, drawing attention to this worldwide phenomenon that is today's forced displacements.
