The study aims to analyze the constitution of the History of Education as a research field. This densification was due to the proliferation of Graduate Programs in Education from the 1970s onwards, of Study Groups linked to this area, as well as scientific events, which have been establishing themselves as vehicles for disseminating the debates and discussions held, directly or indirectly, among the members of the interpretive community of the History of Brazilian Education. The investigation has a qualitative approach and used bibliographic and historical research as sources. The results highlight the recognition and consolidation of this field of study.
