This study shows the reflections arising from a survey carried out to investigate the meaning of university entrance test to the teens, a challenge that occurres in a moment when they find themselves very uncertain about their own identity. The survey was conducted with young people of both sexes aged from 16 to 19 years old. The data were collected in two high schools (one private and one public) using a questionnaire. The students who would undergo the exam at the end of 2009 stated that this fact has interfered intensively in their habits, routine and behavior, including changes in their interpersonal relationships, by generating anxiety, anguish, stress. Some from those who attend public school, approved of the changes introduced by the Enem, contrary to what the private school children felt. The results show that the requirement to make a choice of a profession that needs to be exercised for life, just by making this exam, has a strong influence on the youth. This happens experiencing the conflicts inherent in the identity crisis, whose resolution will define their future adjustment.
