The proposition that guides the reflections of this work is that there are central social values in contemporaneity - influenced by the imagery of being young - that are facilitated by the use of new technologies for communication. Beyond its utilitarian character, implicit in the exchange of information, these objects - the gadgets - provide another, the symbolic character, which perme ates the ideas of connectivity and sociality. However, in universities and the academic world, which are generally adept to the conservative and positivist process that has in the hierarchy its greatest sustentation pillar, the words Youth, Education and Gadget are gerunds: are always starting, grow ing, learning, finishing, choosing, waiting, among others. Nothing seems to inhabit the present, their times are the future.
