This double case study aimed to evaluate whether the implementation of the public policy of full-time school in two schools of Patos de Minas-MG, produced variations in relation to the model provided in the state norms. Bibliographic and documentary research, participant observation and semi-structured interviews were combined. Thematic content analysis of 16 interviews was conducted through the Atlas TI 7.0 Program. The envisaged policy is partially implemented due to lack of material, financial, human resources, physical space, and community interest.
