It analyzes the policy of participatory institutional evaluation implemented in the municipal network of Campinas in order to identify its emancipatory possibilities from categories inspired by Sousa Santos. The empirical basis of the study involves documentary analysis, observation, and interviews with school managers. It confirms the power of school-centered evaluation processes that value dialogue and negotiation with multiple actors involved in the construction of the social quality of the public school.
