This article presents new educational practices brought by Rural Education proposal developed in a Bachelor's degree program, in Brazil. These practices seek to integrate teacher training into the development of activities with rural communities, in a project to rescue local memory about the evolution of means of transport in the region. Beyond an academic proposal, the article seeks to show how a training program in Rural Education can point to new political and social perspectives, opposing an instrumental vision of education and offering an alternative training proposal, envisaging the integral human being formation.
