The present article is aimed at provoking critical thinking about tangible pathways of actions that Higher Education Institutions could follow once internal and external evaluation are concluded and the improved strategic lines are set forward. It also warns about the danger of considering the evaluation procedure as the culminating step of the process. Remarkably, the absence of an actual effort aimed towards the implementation of the strategic planning (also based on the recommendation of the external reviewers) will convert the whole process into a mere academic exercise. More notably, it will strongly deny its potential impact on quality improvement. The significance and importance of a constant renewal and reassurance of the original commitments undertaken by the academic members and the educational organizations, both internal and external, is also emphasized.
