This paper, the result of investigations carried out by a group of researchers, aimed to understand the constitution of knowledge that is mobilized in the teaching practices of professors working in the “History and Teaching” area of the History degree course, offered by a Public Higher Education Institution (IES) in Ceará. For this, aspects of the life trajectory, which are beyond his academic and professional experience, were taken into consideration. In view of privileging the qualitative approach, we chose the Case Study as an option of a methodological path, and we resort to bibliographical and documentary research and semi-structured interviews. The results, analyzed from the Thematic Content Analysis, revealed that the knowledge mobilized in the teaching practices of the investigated professors contemplate knowledge of training, experience, pedagogical action, and its constitution corroborates the personalized character of this knowledge that research in the area has been showing.
