SILVA, Roberto Cardoso Freire da  e  CARVALHO, Jaciara de Sá. The rise of data and the expansion of computing courses: challenges for ethical education. Eccos Rev. Cient. [online]. 2025, n.72, e27571.  Epub 07-Out-2025. ISSN 1983-9278.  https://doi.org/10.5585/2025.27571.

The growing offer of undergraduate courses in Computing, particularly in fields that involve the use and processing of vast amounts of data, such as Artificial Intelligence, highlights the urgency of addressing the values embedded in the education of future professionals who develop these technologies. Based on a mapping of these courses conducted using the E-mec platform, the qualitative research presented here discusses the values present in the students' education and the potential risks that arise from their choices and professional practices throughout the development process. A content analysis was conducted on the material, and the discussions presented were developed from a critical-transformative perspective. The results reveal a strong concentration of these courses in the South and Southeast regions of the country and a technical-training focus on the rapid insertion into the professional market, emphasizing the development of optimized and restructured "solutions" to meet diverse interests. The study highlights the importance of the National Curricular Guidelines for these courses in ensuring formative processes that contribute to the promotion of responsible moral agents and technological development that better represents the values and interests of society.
