This study aimed to analyze how the contents of Geographic Climatology are recommended in the main basic official documents of Education, which govern the teaching of School Geography in TrêsLagoas, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil namely: the National Curricular Parameters (NCPs), the National Common Curricular Base (NCCB), and the Curricular Reference of the Mato Grosso do Sul State Education Network. Additionally, it analyzed the Climatology contents carried delivered the teaching of Geography in three state schools in the city of Três Lagoas. The methodology was carried out through the analysis of documents and systematization of contents inherent in the identified Climatology. Then, 392 teaching plans of teachers from three state schools acquired from the Regional Education Coordinator’s Office were analyzed. The results show that in the PCNs the Climatology contents are indicated in all grades of Primary School, but in the Curricular Reference of the State Education Network of Mato Grosso do Sul, only in the 6th and 8th grade. In the BNCC, Climatology is addressed in the 6th, 8th and 9th year. As for the plans, less than 10% of the analyzed documents addressed Climatology contents, and, in one of the schools, Climatology contents are not present. Nevertheless, the study reveals a lack of Climatology contents, both in the basic documents of education and in teaching practice.
