BIEHL, Cibele Kern e VASQUES, Daniel Giordani. Tensioning school games: a report on the processes of sportization of Physical Education. Educação. Santa Maria [online]. 2024, vol.49, e83742. Epub 26-Ago-2025. ISSN 1984-6444. https://doi.org/10.5902/1984644483742.
This study dealt with the pedagogical intentions for the transformations in the meaning and curriculum of Physical Education at school, specifically analyzed in school games. Thus, based on an experience report produced on the 'school floor', we describe the proposal, its tensions and resonances. We problematize the sportization of the school and the incorporations of meanings and behaviors resulting from this process. More specifically, the naturalization of violence, the separation and hierarchy of gender roles, and the overvaluation of 'victory at any cost' were elements that generated some teacher discomfort, and on which we decided to act. We build a direction and a sense for the transformations that we intend in Physical Education at school. A more mature model of games necessarily goes through insistence and setbacks, but we understand that it must be produced in the collective, democratic and more horizontal participation between teachers and students.
