The text discusses the implementation of the Escola da Terra program in the State of São Paulo. It assumes that the State has a large number of schools in rural areas, operating with multigrade classes. Schools that since the late 1980s have been closed, both by successive state governments and municipal governments, representatives of the local bourgeoisie. It is also discussed the importance of social movements in the fight against the closing of schools in the countryside, as well as the fight for transformations in Brazilian society, controlled by a bourgeoisie with slavocratic ideologies that aims to keep workers away from a school that can offer some type of relevant knowledge in relation to the forms of expropriation by capital.
