This study analyzed the relationship between social control and educational indicators. To this end, the 184 municipalities in Ceará were investigated, from 2016 to 2018. Social control was measured by the municipal transparency index and the educational indicators considered were Spaece performance, approval rate, dropout rate and age/grade distortion. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, Anova and Tukey test. The results indicate that there is a relationship between social control and educational indicators, so that better educational indicators are associated with a greater level of municipal transparency.
